Following his impressive third-round TKO victory over Jarrah Hussein Al-Silawi (21-7) at PFL Pittsburgh on March 28th, Josh Fremd (12-6) shared insights into his recent success, his departure from the UFC, and his immediate plans. These plans include a venture into bare-knuckle boxing with BKFC, a decision made before his PFL opportunity arose, which the PFL is now allowing him to honor. Fremd also mentioned he does not anticipate fighting in 2025 due to his current schedule.

Fremd confirmed his current physical status, stating he is cleared for competition with only a brief recovery period needed for stitches. A former Golden Gloves boxer, Fremd expressed a strong desire to test his skills in the bare-knuckle arena, viewing it as a personal challenge despite his primary goals being in MMA and the PFL.

"I’m cleared, I think it’s like a seven-day thing to let these stitches heal up," Fremd stated in the interview. "I signed it and PFL is letting me honor it. Before the PFL came along, I was signed to BKFC. Obviously PFL is my goal, MMA is a goal. I was a Golden Gloves boxer, and I want to give myself a test in this." He also looks forward to sharing the card with teammate Chris Camozzi, adding, "It would be an honor to share the card with him.”

This dynamic period sees Fremd navigating a significant win, a career transition from the UFC, and an exciting new challenge in bare-knuckle boxing, setting the stage for his next chapter in combat sports.
