NHL Rumors: The New Jersey Devils Plan on Bringing Anton Silayev to North America
New Jersey Devils Aim to Bring Anton Silayev to North America This Offseason
The New Jersey Devils are reportedly making plans to bring their 2024 first-round draft pick, Anton Silayev, to North America following the conclusion of his KHL season. Silayev, selected 10th overall by the Devils, currently plays for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod, and there is strong interest in signing him to an entry-level contract.
Silayev's current contract with Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod is set to expire at the end of their playoff run. The expectation is that once his KHL commitments are complete, he will sign with the New Jersey Devils and begin the process of moving to North America.
While the process of securing a visa and relocating is acknowledged to be complex and time-consuming, the primary objective for both the Devils organization and Silayev's camp is to have him in North America by late June or early July. This timeline would allow him to participate in the Devils' development camp, which typically takes place after the NHL draft. The duration of his KHL season will influence the exact timeline for his arrival and the completion of the necessary administrative steps. All indications point towards Silayev signing with the Devils as soon as he is able to.
