Yoel Romero Victorious with Late Knockout Against Ras Hylton

MMA news

Yoel Romero achieved a knockout win in the headline fight of Dirty Boxing 1, securing the victory in the final moments of the match.

The former UFC title contender faced Bellator veteran Ras Hylton in the main event on Saturday night in Miami. After taking the lead in the first two rounds with points, Romero ended the fight with a powerful combination near the end.

As is typical in Romero`s fights, the bout began at a measured pace, with Romero focusing on countering his taller opponent. Hylton utilized his reach to maintain distance, using jabs and fighting strategically. Romero landed a strong left hand towards the end of the first round, but Hylton responded with his own combination.

The second round followed a similar pattern, with Romero landing occasional strikes and incorporating body shots. Hylton connected with some glancing blows, but nothing significantly impactful, resulting in a relatively slow pace for the first six minutes of boxing.

Romero displayed increased aggression in the third round, landing forceful punches and elbows. Hylton struggled to match Romero`s athleticism. Romero landed a solid left hand on Hylton around the midpoint of the round. Hylton countered with a straight combination but absorbed body shots in return. Romero then delivered the decisive blow, ending the fight.

With this victory, Romero`s record in the promotion improves to 2-0, both wins by knockout.
