Ahead of UFC Vegas 105, 25 out of 26 fighters successfully weighed in for the Fight Night event. However, not all fighters made weight, and one didn`t even appear at the weigh-ins.
Daniel Santos was absent from the weigh-ins for his scheduled fight against Davey Grant on Friday. UFC announcer Brendan Fitzgerald announced that Santos was forced to withdraw due to a “medical issue,” and consequently, the fight has been cancelled. Davey Grant successfully made weight at 135.5 pounds.
UFC Vegas 105 is scheduled for Saturday at the UFC APEX.
The main event fighters, Josh Emmett and Lerone Murphy, both successfully made weight for their featherweight bout. Emmett weighed in at 146 pounds, and Murphy at 145.5 pounds for his second UFC main event.
In addition, Cortavious Romious significantly missed weight, exceeding the limit by more than three pounds, as he seeks his first victory in the UFC.
Romious, a 2024 Contender Series contract winner, weighed in at 139.5 pounds – 3.5 pounds over the bantamweight limit – for his fight against Chang Ho Lee. Lee successfully weighed in at 136 pounds for his second UFC fight. Despite missing weight, the fight will proceed, with Romious forfeiting 20 percent of his purse.
