Jiu-jitsu was central at UFC London, especially for Saturday`s four bonus recipients.
Sean Brady, Alexia Thainara, Shauna Bannon, and Kevin Holland each secured $50,000 Performance of the Night bonuses for their impressive victories at UFC London.
The Fight of the Night award was not given, leading to four individual bonuses instead.
Brady concluded the evening with an incredible finish of former UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards, becoming the first fighter to defeat Edwards inside the distance. This was a statement win for Brady, who appears to be a top contender at 170 pounds after his third consecutive victory.
Thainara and Bannon also achieved submission wins, with Thainara, in her debut, utilizing her dangerous ground game to submit veteran Molly McCann (leading to her retirement), and Bannon recovering from a head kick knockdown to secure a slick armbar against Puja Tomar.
In a rare instance of a Performance of the Night bonus awarded to a fighter who didn`t win by knockout or submission, Holland added to his bonus tally with a dominant decision victory over Gunnar Nelson. Holland demonstrated his grappling prowess against Nelson, out-grappling him to secure an exciting unanimous decision win.
This marks the eighth time Holland has received a Performance of the Night bonus.
