UFC Announces Fight Night Return to Abu Dhabi

MMA news

The UFC is heading back to Abu Dhabi this summer.

The promotion officially announced Thursday morning that they will host a UFC Abu Dhabi Fight Night event on July 26 at Etihad Arena. A main event, or any other fight has not been announced.

Coming off of a monster 2024 business-wise, the UFC is mimicking moves that found them global success this past year — which includes multiple visits to Abu Dhabi. This past August, UFC Abu Dhabi took place, capped off by Umar Nurmagomedov’s bantamweight title fight earning decision win over Cory Sandhagen.

Two months later, UFC 308 happened at Etihad Arena, headlined by Ilia Topuria’s sensational knockout of Max Holloway to retain the featherweight title in what will, as of now, be his only title defense in lieu of a lightweight move.

The UFC is expected to bring a pay-per-view card to Abu Dhabi in October, although a date hasn’t been officially announced.
