A strawweight bout between Amanda Ribas and Tabatha Ricci is set for the undercard of UFC 318 on July 19.
This pay-per-view event will feature a five-round BMF title showdown between Dustin Poirier, fighting in his home state of Louisiana for likely his final bout, and champion Max Holloway in the main event from New Orleans.
Ribas (12-6 overall, 7-5 UFC) holds a solid record in the strawweight division within the UFC, securing five wins in seven bouts there. Her notable victories include a 2021 decision over current top contender Virna Jandiroba. Despite fluctuating between weight classes throughout her UFC tenure, she returns to strawweight looking to rebound from recent losses to Rose Namajunas and Mackenzie Dern.
Ricci (11-3 overall) has found considerable success since moving to strawweight after a flyweight debut loss to Manon Fiorot in 2021. She has won six of eight fights at 115 pounds, earning victories over seasoned veterans like Gillian Robertson, Angela Hill, and Tecia Pennington. She aims to return to the win column following her loss to Yan Xiaonan last November.
