Ilia Topuria is poised to attempt a significant moment in UFC history at UFC 317, scheduled for June 28.
The former UFC Featherweight Champion is slated to face Charles Oliveira for the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship in the main event of the upcoming pay-per-view. Taking place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, this bout offers Topuria the chance to become a champion in two weight classes.
The Lightweight title was vacated following former champion Islam Makhachev`s move to pursue gold in the UFC Welterweight division.
Topuria enters this fight with an unblemished professional record of 16 wins and no losses. His resume includes a recent knockout victory over Max Holloway in his only defense of the featherweight title. Across from him, Charles Oliveira has secured victories in three of his last five championship contests.
In the co-main event, UFC Flyweight Champion Alexandre Pantoja will look to achieve his fourth consecutive title defense. He is set to compete against Kai Kara-France. Pantoja is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak, while Kara-France has won three of his previous five outings.
