Following UFC 314 in Miami, medical suspensions have been issued to several fighters, including Diego Lopes and Michael Chandler.
The Florida Athletic Commission released the list of medical suspensions, revealing that 17 fighters are required to take time off. Some fighters received indefinite suspensions, meaning they need medical clearance before they can compete again.
Diego Lopes, who headlined UFC 314 in a fight against Alexander Volkanovski, is among those with an indefinite suspension. This follows his intense five-round fight.
Due to Florida`s medical privacy laws, the specifics of Lopes` suspension are not public. However, indefinite suspensions usually indicate a potential injury that requires a doctor`s approval for the fighter to return to competition.
Volkanovski himself received a mandatory 45-day suspension, although it was already unlikely he would compete again so soon.
In the co-main event, Michael Chandler is suspended for 60 days. He sustained significant damage during his fight with Paddy Pimblett, which ended in a third-round loss for Chandler. He suffered a cut on his cheek from a knee strike and will be sidelined for at least 60 days to recover.
Four additional fighters have been given indefinite suspensions: strawweight contender Virna Jandiroba, Chase Hooper, Marco Tulio, and Tresean Gore.
