Tracy Cortez Explains Post-Fight Support for Mexican Community

MMA news

LAS VEGAS – Following her victory at UFC 317, fighter Tracy Cortez addressed the media. She discussed her performance, acknowledging she wasn`t satisfied, spoke about the health issues that have limited her fights, and explained her public message of support for the Mexican community during recent ICE raids.

Cortez elaborated on her decision to speak out, stating that a significant portion of her fanbase is Mexican and part of the Latin community, whom she feels she represents deeply. She felt it would be “coward-like” not to address the situation. Cortez emphasized her desire for support from “mi gente, la raza” and highlighted that she represents both the Mexican and U.S. flags, believing it was the right time to voice her support after focusing on her fight.

She concluded by acknowledging the sensitivity of the topic, saying, “I just want everyone to know I don`t know if I am qualified to speak on such a sensitive topic, but nevertheless, I could be a voice and I`m here.”
