Sean Brady delivered an outstanding performance against Leon Edwards, firmly establishing himself as a top contender in the welterweight division.
In the main event of UFC London on Saturday, Brady showcased his skills against a highly-regarded opponent, controlling Edwards throughout the initial three rounds and appearing to be on track for a decision victory. However, the Philadelphia fighter took control of his destiny, securing a guillotine choke submission against Edwards in the fourth round.
This marked the first time in Edwards` career that he has lost a fight via knockout or submission.
Brady`s fellow fighters expressed widespread admiration for his comprehensive performance. Prominent figures such as Henry Cejudo, Gilbert Burns, Chris Weidman, Stephen Thompson, and Johnny Eblen all lauded his victory. Cejudo proposed a fight between Brady and Shavkat Rakhmonov to determine the leading contender for the welterweight title, while both Eblen and Terrance McKinney suggested that Brady should be next in line for a title opportunity.
