Remedy Entertainment’s co-op shooter, FBC: Firebreak, will no longer receive new content updates, marking a definitive shift in its post-launch strategy. Often overlooked in discussions surrounding high-profile live-service game failures, FBC: Firebreak struggled to gain significant traction despite benefiting from the considerable buzz surrounding Remedy’s critically acclaimed Alan Wake 2 prior to its own release.
Less than a year since its debut, the developers are ceasing further content development. However, to help the game find a broader audience and sustain its existing player base, Remedy is introducing a Friend’s Pass feature and implementing a permanent price reduction. These initiatives are hoped to allow the game to find players and remain viable “for years to come.”
