Michel Pereira`s most recent appearance inside the octagon proved to be significantly underwhelming.
At the UFC Kansas City event on Saturday, Abus Magomedov handed Pereira a decisive defeat via unanimous decision. Throughout the fight, Pereira showed very little of the flashy, dynamic style he is known for. He offered minimal threat to Magomedov, only displaying a brief burst of activity in the final round. Ultimately, Magomedov cruised to victory, with none of the judges scoring a single round for Pereira.
Adding to the disappointment was the fact that Pereira performed an elaborate dance routine before the fight. This led some fellow fighters to speculate whether it negatively impacted his performance.
For example, Alan Jouban commented, “Might be regretting that dance now,” and later added, “I appreciate Michele’s walkout entertainment. But you can’t put more energy into the dance than the fight.”
This loss marks Pereira`s second straight defeat. His previous outing in a main event opportunity last October also resulted in a flat performance, where he was dominated by top middleweight contender Anthony Hernandez.
