MMA news

Paige VanZant, known for her time in the UFC and current participation in Power Slap, and Bryce Hall, a social media personality who has also ventured into bare-knuckle boxing, are set to star in a horror film.

The movie, titled Skillhouse, is a horror production by Ryan Kavanaugh`s GenTV productions and is scheduled for release across the country on July 11 through Fathom Entertainment. The news was initially reported by Deadline.

Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson will play the main character in the film, which is directed by Josh Stolberg, recognized for his contributions to horror movies like Saw X, Jigsaw, and Piranha 3D.

The film is described as “a social media nightmare with high stakes, where 10 influencers are drawn into a dangerous content house and must participate in deadly social media challenges – because in Skillhouse, online influence is not just popularity; it’s essential for survival.”

Kavanaugh, a producer of many successful movies such as The Social Network, The Fighter, and Mamma Mia!, is also known in the fight world as a former owner of Triller, the social media company that owns BKFC.

Skillhouse has been a groundbreaking film endeavor from the very beginning – a project that is both exciting and engaging for anyone on social media and horror enthusiasts of all generations,” Kavanaugh stated.

Skillhouse is more than just a horror film; it is a timely project that pushes boundaries by utilizing the impact and appeal of influencers and incorporating them into the narrative. GenTV is thrilled to collaborate with Fathom to create a unique theatrical experience for this movie.”

This film marks VanZant’s first significant acting role after gaining fame in the UFC and later signing a lucrative contract with BKFC. More recently, VanZant has been competing in Power Slap under Dana White`s promotion.

Hall will also play a leading role in the movie, with some scenes filmed at Sway House, a location where numerous prominent social media influencers, including Hall himself, initially rose to fame.

Skillhouse is set to premiere in theaters on the same day as the highly anticipated Superman film by writer and director James Gunn.
