Paddy Pimblett’s Impressive UFC 314 Victory Sparks Title Contender Talk

Paddy Pimblett`s performance at UFC 314 was truly the highlight of the event.

Entering the fight against experienced lightweight Michael Chandler as the favorite, “The Baddy” exceeded expectations with a dominant showing. Few anticipated the level of control he would exert over the former Bellator champion. Pimblett controlled Chandler both in striking exchanges and on the ground, demonstrating exceptional grappling and delivering heavy ground strikes within the first three rounds.

Instead of playing it safe for a decision win, Pimblett increased his aggression in the third round of their co-main event, which was scheduled for five rounds, and secured a knockout victory.

Seizing his post-fight interview, Pimblett called out several high-ranking lightweights, including Dustin Poirier, Justin Gaethje, and Charles Oliveira. He clearly signaled his ambition to overcome these top contenders on his path to a UFC lightweight title opportunity.

UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad acknowledged Pimblett`s confidence and skill, suggesting on Twitter that “Islam Makhachev has a new challenger to watch out for.”
