ONE Championship Friday Fights Event Cancelled

MMA news

Due to a significant 7.7 magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, ONE Championship had to cancel its Friday event in Bangkok, Thailand, the organization announced.

The earthquake, the strongest in the region since 1991, reportedly caused casualties. Reuters reported at least three deaths and 81 individuals trapped in debris after a building under construction in Bangkok collapsed.

ONE Friday Fights 102, planned to host 12 matches at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium, including a main Muay Thai fight between Rambong Sor Terapat and Pompetch, was affected. The event also included two MMA fights: Jean Claude Saclag versus Shazada Ataev and Marwin Quirante versus Torepchi Dongak. ONE Championship has not yet confirmed if these fights will be rescheduled.

It remains uncertain whether ONE`s event scheduled for the following Friday in Bangkok, which includes two Muay Thai title fights, will proceed as originally planned.
