Brad Marchand played a pivotal role for the Florida Panthers, powering them to a thrilling 5-4 victory against the Edmonton Oilers in double overtime during Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Final. Marchand netted two goals in the contest, bringing the series level at one game apiece before heading back to South Florida.

The game started with an explosive offensive pace, with the two teams combining for five goals in the opening period. This marked the highest-scoring first period in a Stanley Cup Final since 2016, when the Pittsburgh Penguins and San Jose Sharks also combined for five goals.

Marchand`s game-winning goal was set up by teammate Anton Lundell in the second overtime period. At the 8:04 mark, Lundell skillfully flipped the puck ahead to Marchand, who tucked it past the pad of Oilers goaltender Stuart Skinner.

This decisive goal served as redemption for Marchand, who had a golden opportunity to end the game in the first overtime. After receiving a pass from Carter Verhaeghe, Marchand attempted several shots from close range, but a rebound effort frustratingly rang off the post, keeping the game alive.

Sergei Bobrovsky faced a challenging opening period, allowing three goals. However, he significantly rebounded, settling into a strong performance with 41 saves on 45 shots and conceding only one goal over the subsequent three-plus periods.
