Jackson McVey will indeed make his debut appearance on a UFC pay-per-view card.
Sources familiar with the promotion`s plans have confirmed that McVey is stepping in with less than two weeks` notice to compete against Brunno Ferreira at UFC 318.
This event is scheduled for July 19 and will take place at the Smoothie King Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.
McVey`s opportunity comes as a replacement for Ikram Aliskerov, who announced via Instagram that he sustained a broken toe during his training camp preparation for the scheduled fight with Ferreira.
The undefeated middleweight Aliskerov had also previously seen a planned bout against Christopher Ewert cancelled at UFC 317 just last weekend, after Ewert failed to make the required middleweight limit.
McVey, on the other hand, recently competed in June at LFA 210, where he secured a quick victory by stopping his opponent in just 98 seconds.
For Brunno Ferreira, this will be his seventh appearance inside the octagon, as he aims for his fifth victory under the UFC banner.
In his most recent fight at UFC 313, “The Hulk” secured a notable submission win over Armen Petrosyan with a painful armbar in the second round.
The UFC 318 card is set to be headlined by a highly anticipated trilogy bout for the BMF title between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.
Dustin Poirier has indicated that this fight is expected to be the final contest of his professional mixed martial arts career.
