Highly-regarded flyweight fighter Muhammad Mokaev is making a move to the Karate Combat arena for his next bout.
After initial announcements on social media, Karate Combat officials have confirmed that Mokaev, aged 24, has officially signed with the promotion. Fans can anticipate his first appearance in the Karate Combat pit on May 2nd at their Dubai event.
Mokaev explained his decision, stating, “Karate was my first martial art before I transitioned to wrestling. I aim to stay active and enhance my striking skills. Wrestling will always be my fallback, but I need to develop my stand-up game.”
During his UFC tenure, Mokaev built an impressive 7-0 record. However, following the expiration of his contract after a victory over Manel Kape at UFC 304 in July, the UFC opted not to renew his contract.
Mokaev, who holds the No. 10 spot in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings, last competed at Brave CF 91 in December, where he secured a first-round submission victory against Joevincent So.
