Mokaev to Face Zamanbekov in Karate Combat Debut

Muhammad Mokaev has officially secured his opponent for his highly anticipated debut in Karate Combat.

The former prominent UFC flyweight contender is scheduled to clash with Bolat Zamanbekov on May 2 in Dubai, as confirmed by promotion officials. This bantamweight match is slated as the co-main event and will consist of three three-minute rounds, adhering to Karate Combat regulations.

Karate Combat 54 is expected to be headlined by a heavyweight showdown featuring current champion Sam Alvey against Tyrone Spong.

Considered a top flyweight competitor in MMA, Mokaev compiled a 7-0 record in the UFC, achieving notable victories over Manel Kape, Alex Perez, and Tim Elliott. Following his departure from the UFC last July, he swiftly returned to Brave CF in December, defeating Joevincent So and extending his professional record to an impressive 13-0.

Zamanbekov`s MMA record stands at 8-3. His most recent fight resulted in a submission loss to Avazbek Kholmirzaev at ONE Championship in February. Prior to that loss, the Kazakhstani fighter had won eight out of nine MMA contests outside of ONE.
