Michael Chandler has broken his silence following his loss to Paddy Pimblett at UFC 314. Despite leaving the octagon before the official fight result announcement, Chandler shared a brief statement on social media on Monday.
The former UFC title challenger experienced a third-round TKO defeat after Pimblett took him to the ground and unleashed a series of elbows and punches, prompting the referee to stop the fight. This loss marks Chandler`s third consecutive defeat and his UFC record now stands at 2-5.
While he didn`t directly address Pimblett or the specifics of the fight, Chandler`s message emphasized that there are more important aspects in his life than his UFC career.
“Never out of the fight,” Chandler posted on social media. “This picture says it all. As long as I have my family`s love and support, I`ve already achieved victory.”
The photo accompanying Chandler’s message, shared by his wife Brie, depicted him holding hands with his son, who was present at the Saturday night fights. Chandler also returned home to spend time with his newborn daughter, who was born shortly before his fight with Pimblett at UFC 314.
As a father of three, Chandler has consistently prioritized his family above all else, and this perspective largely defines his takeaway from a challenging night in the UFC.
Regarding his future career plans, Chandler has not yet indicated his next steps after this loss to Pimblett, which presents a significant challenge for him to climb back up the ranks.
Despite the defeat, UFC CEO Dana White commended Chandler for his resilience and his commitment to delivering exciting fights, comparing him to Arturo Gatti — a boxer renowned for his legendary, action-packed bouts.
