Former UFC heavyweight fighter Mark Hunt was apprehended in Sydney, Australia, on Wednesday facing a domestic violence accusation.

The New Zealand-originating former mixed martial artist and kickboxer, widely recognized as “The Super Samoan” and “The King of Walk-Offs,” was subsequently granted bail following his April 15 detainment.

Reports indicate Hunt was charged with a single count of stalking or intimidation with the intent to inflict physical harm.

According to MMA Fighting, the former competitor was alleged to have become aggressive towards the complainant and an observer while she was assisting him. The report details that Hunt reportedly acted in an “intimidating and berating manner,” causing the victim “fear and distress,” which prompted law enforcement involvement.

The Sydney Morning Herald cites Hunt’s legal representative stating that the fighter is anticipated to enter a guilty plea for the stalking and intimidation offense.

“Police informed the court that Hunt allegedly sent the victim a death threat via text, stating, ‘I’m just going to murder you in the end anyway.'”

Hunt gained prominence for his tenure in the UFC from 2010 to 2018 and for winning the 2001 K-1 World Grand Prix, establishing a reputation as a formidable heavyweight striker.
