Months ago, Jake and Logan Paul hinted at a potential fight between them. However, these social media faceoffs and posts were primarily promotional efforts aimed at launching their reality series, Paul American, on HBO Max.
Despite this, the siblings have previously suggested the possibility of an actual fight, especially considering they both started competing around the same time and were instrumental in launching the influencer boxing scene. Currently, Logan is primarily focused on a professional wrestling career, while Jake has continued in boxing, holding an 11-1 record and scheduled to fight Julio Caesar Chavez Jr. in June.
While discussions about them fighting each other are ongoing, Logan admits that a boxing match against his brother is unlikely, although he might consider another sport.
On his podcast, Paul commented on potentially fighting Jake, stating, “Not unless it’s MMA.” He added, “He’d definitely win [in boxing] at this point. He’s got a heavy hand. We would need an insane amount of money.”
Jake did sign with the PFL with the intention of transitioning to MMA eventually. However, this seems less probable as time progresses and he remains dedicated to his boxing career.
Regarding his own fighting prospects, Logan disclosed in a previous podcast episode that he contacted UFC CEO Dana White about possibly fighting in the octagon. He received little response, which indicated to him that the promotion wasn’t interested in his idea.
Consequently, a Paul versus Paul fight appears improbable. Nevertheless, Logan made a significant effort to arrange a boxing match between his brother and his former adversary turned business partner, KSI.
Logan`s initial foray into boxing involved two fights against KSI. The 31-year-old British influencer subsequently launched his own promotion, Misfits Boxing.
Although Logan and KSI resolved their conflict long ago and successfully partnered to launch a hugely successful energy drink company, discussions about a potential clash between Jake Paul and KSI have continued.
In fact, Logan admitted he tried extensively to coordinate a fight between Jake and KSI.
Logan explained his efforts, saying, “I tried. I gave it 110 percent effort. In my very, very hard attempt to try to make it happen, it has come down to a weight disagreement.”
He elaborated on the specific issue: “KSI is willing to go up to 190 pounds, while Jake will come down to 192.5 pounds. That’s a mere two and a half pound difference.” Paul highlighted the challenge for Jake, who typically walks around much heavier: “[Jake is] a heavyweight fighter and you’ve never cut weight, and I’m telling you, when you cut weight, it f*cks up your performance. For Jake now, who’s walking around at 225 – 30 pounds is a huge deal. The opposite is true for KSI, who’s around 180, 185 pounds, needing to move up and gain weight.”
Logan believes this weight disparity effectively ended the possibility of Jake fighting KSI and doubts either person is interested in revisiting those discussions.
Paul further explained the performance implications: “So [KSI is] gaining weight so he’s going to be slower as a reactive, and then Jake’s going to be drained. I see both sides. It just feels super unfortunate. I don’t know if it will ever happen.”
