The Los Angeles Lakers officially unveiled their Statement Edition uniform for the upcoming 2025-26 NBA season this past Monday.
Returning to a purple base reminiscent of their 2022-23 design, the new Statement Edition features notable changes. Unlike previous versions with gold text and dark numbers, this iteration uses sharp white lettering for both the team name (`Lakers`) and player numbers, highlighted by elegant gold trim.
Key design elements include purple and white striping along the collar. A significant update is seen on the side panels, which replace the former black accents with a vibrant purple, gold, and white pattern, featuring `Los Angeles Lakers` inscribed prominently.
Above the jersey tag, the phrase `Leave a Legacy` is printed. The back of the neck proudly displays the number 17, symbolizing the franchise`s 17 NBA championships.
For the first time on a primary uniform, the team`s signature `LA` logo will appear on both sides of the shorts, providing a cohesive final detail.
According to a team news release, the new Statement Edition will join their existing uniform set, which includes the gold Icon Edition, white Association Edition, and the annual City Edition jerseys.
