Kevin Holland Books UFC 318 Showdown vs. Daniel Rodriguez

MMA news

Kevin Holland is set to remain highly active, booking his fourth fight of 2025 for July 19th. He will face Daniel Rodriguez at UFC 318, which is scheduled to take place in New Orleans. The news of this matchup was confirmed by multiple sources close to the situation.

UFC 318 will be held at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. The event will be headlined by a five-round BMF title bout between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier.

Holland`s quick turnaround, just seven weeks after his last bout, offers him the chance to secure a three-fight winning streak in the UFC. This would be his first time achieving this since 2020, a year where he impressively won five consecutive fights.

“Trailblazer,” as Holland is known, holds a professional record of 28 wins, 13 losses, and 1 No Contest. He recently defeated Vicente Luque by stoppage, following a decision victory over Gunnar Nelson three months prior. Both of these recent wins earned him performance bonuses and mark a solid recovery after previous middleweight defeats to Roman Dolidze and Reinier de Ridder.

His opponent, Daniel Rodriguez (19-5 professional record), is also coming off a victory. He defeated Santiago Ponzinibbio via third-round knockout last May, improving his UFC record to 9-4. This win followed a decision victory over Alex Morono.

The 38-year-old Rodriguez now has an opportunity to win his third straight fight. This comes after a challenging run in 2024 where losses against Neil Magny, Ian Machado Garry, and Kelvin Gastelum had slowed his momentum.
