Kayla Harrison is entering her first UFC title fight as a significant favorite to win the championship at UFC 316.
UFC CEO Dana White announced that Harrison will challenge Julianna Peña for the bantamweight title as the co-main event of UFC 316 on June 7 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
According to betting odds, Harrison is heavily favored to become the 135-pound champion, while Peña is considered a substantial underdog in her first title defense. Historically, Peña has proven to be a resilient underdog, notably defeating Amanda Nunes in a major upset at UFC 269 to initially win the title.
Harrison`s UFC journey includes a victory over Holly Holm and a decision win against Ketlen Vieira. Peña recently reclaimed her title by defeating Raquel Pennington.
