Joel Alvarez Out of UFC 315 Fight with Benoit Saint Denis

MMA news

Lightweight fighter Joel Alvarez will not be competing at UFC 315 as planned. He has been forced to withdraw from his scheduled bout against Benoit Saint Denis due to a hand injury.

Alvarez himself announced the news, stating that the injury will restrict his ability to train for approximately three weeks. The fight was set to take place this Saturday in Montreal.

As of now, there is no official word on whether Benoit Saint Denis will receive a replacement opponent for this event or if the fight will be rescheduled for a later date.

Joel Alvarez holds a professional record of 22 wins and 3 losses. Notably, all 22 of his victories have come by way of finish, either knockout or submission. He is currently on a three-fight winning streak.

Benoit Saint Denis`s record stands at 13 wins, 3 losses, and 1 No Contest. The French fighter also boasts a high finishing rate with 13 stoppages. However, he is looking to bounce back after suffering consecutive losses in his last two outings against Renato Moicano and Dustin Poirier.

Despite this change, UFC 315 will still feature two championship fights headlining the event: Belal Muhammad defends the welterweight title against Jack Della Maddalena, and Valentina Shevchenko defends the flyweight title against Manon Fiorot.
