Jayson Tatum Thanks Supporters Following Achilles Surgery

NBA news

Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum is now on the road to recovery after successfully undergoing surgery on the right Achilles tendon he ruptured on Monday.

On Wednesday, Tatum shared a photo on Instagram following the procedure, expressing his gratitude for the numerous well-wishes he has received from the NBA community and beyond.

Accompanying a picture of himself giving a thumbs-up, Tatum`s caption read: “Thankful for all the love and support,” followed by a praying hands emoji.

Tatum`s injury occurred during the fourth quarter of Monday`s Game 4 matchup between the Celtics and the New York Knicks. Prior to the injury, Tatum had delivered a strong performance, tallying 42 points and eight rebounds.

Many notable figures offered their support in the comments section of his Instagram post, including former New York Yankees player Alex Rodriguez and actor Donnie Wahlberg. Rodriguez left heart and praying hands emojis, while Wahlberg commented `Much Love JT!`. On the social media platform X, LeBron James and Patrick Mahomes were also among those who sent well wishes to Tatum on the night of his injury.

Looking ahead, the Celtics will aim to continue their playoff run without Tatum in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Knicks on Wednesday night.
