Jake Paul Declares He Can Defeat Anthony Joshua

MMA news

Jake Paul has publicly announced his desire to fight Anthony Joshua as his next opponent.

This announcement follows Paul`s recent victory by decision over Mike Tyson in November, a fight that generated significant controversy even before it began. Paul is now focusing on a potential matchup with the former unified heavyweight champion, Joshua.

“I understand my limits,” Paul stated on his podcast, BS w/ Jake Paul. “But here’s the truth: I want to fight Anthony Joshua. I am confident that I can defeat Anthony Joshua.”

Paul elaborated on his confidence, saying, “Joshua’s chin is questionable, his skills are lacking, and he appears stiff in the ring. With all due respect to Anthony, and despite our friendly relationship, I want to fight him.”

In 2024, Paul has been active, competing three times and securing knockout victories against Ryan Bourland and BKFC fighter Mike Perry. His only boxing defeat was against Tommy Fury in February 2023, but he has since rebounded with five consecutive wins.

The internet personality turned boxer has expressed high confidence in his boxing abilities, even suggesting he could defeat top-ranked boxers like Canelo Alvarez. However, Paul did identify one boxer he believes would defeat him: David Benavidez, who was present during the podcast recording.

“I believe I can beat Canelo and many others, but David Benavidez is a different level,” Paul admitted. “He would overwhelm me. He’s just on another level.”
