The highly anticipated fight between Jake Paul and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is drawing near.
Scheduled for this Saturday, Paul and Chavez Jr. are set to compete in a 10-round cruiserweight bout at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Leading up to their significant clash, both fighters, along with the rest of the card participants, attended the pre-fight press conference on Thursday. While the press event itself wasn`t overly eventful, it did feature the initial face-to-face encounter between the two headliners.
This marks Paul`s first bout since his major event against Mike Tyson last November. Paul is currently riding a five-fight winning streak and aims to solidify his position among more seasoned competition.
Chavez Jr., the son of a legendary boxing Hall of Famer and a former WBC titleholder himself, possesses considerable experience with 62 professional fights. He comes into this fight on a two-fight winning streak, having most recently secured a unanimous decision victory over former UFC fighter Uriah Hall in July.
Also on the Card: Holly Holm Returns to Boxing
The event`s undercard will also see the return of boxing Hall of Famer and former UFC champion Holly Holm to the professional boxing ring for the first time since 2013. She is scheduled to face Yolanda Vega, who holds a 10-1 professional boxing record.
Now aged 43, Holm had a distinguished boxing career, winning 16 titles across three weight divisions before transitioning to mixed martial arts. Her last appearance was at UFC 300, where she was submitted by Kayla Harrison in the second round.
