Throughout his fighting career, Israel Adesanya has overcome numerous difficulties, but perhaps in the gym, he encountered something completely new.
“The Last Stylebender” recently teamed up with David Goggins, a fitness coach and motivational speaker known for his grueling workouts. The goal is to improve his physical shape between fights. In a recent YouTube vlog, Adesanya showed a candid moment: he vomited right during a session under Goggins` guidance.
This is not the first time Goggins` work with a UFC fighter has attracted attention. He previously trained former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson before his fight with Paddy Pimblett at UFC 296. Unfortunately for Ferguson, the outcome of this work did not help him in the octagon at all: he lost to Pimblett by unanimous decision and suffered a seventh consecutive defeat.
Adesanya does not currently have a scheduled fight, and he is considering how to break his own losing streak, which now stands at three defeats. After he regained the UFC middleweight title in a bout with longtime rival Alex Pereira at UFC 287, Adesanya lost three consecutive fights: to Sean Strickland, Dricus du Plessis, and Nassourdine Imavov.
The full, uncut version of the training session between Adesanya and Goggins is expected to appear soon on Adesanya`s YouTube channel.
