Ian Machado Garry’s ‘Born to Fight’ Hype Video for UFC Kansas City

MMA news

Ian Machado Garry is generating excitement among fans for his upcoming fight this Saturday.

The rising welterweight star will make his first appearance in the octagon in 2025 when he headlines UFC Kansas City against Carlos Prates. This marks Garry`s return since his last fight in December at UFC 310, where he faced Shavkat Rakhmonov, giving him his toughest challenge to date in a five-round decision loss.

Garry stepped in to fight Prates on short notice after the original main event between Jamahal Hill and Khalil Rountree was postponed. Prates was initially scheduled for UFC 314 but was moved after his opponent, Geoff Neal, sustained an injury. Garry`s promo video emphasizes his willingness to take on tough matchups.

The defeat to Rakhmonov was the first in Garry’s professional career, ending a 15-fight winning streak, which included eight victories in his UFC career. The 27-year-old has achieved notable wins against fighters like Neil Magny, Daniel Rodriguez, Neil Magny, and Michael Page.

Prates is also heading into his second consecutive main event bout after a first-round knockout victory over Magny in November at UFC Vegas 100. This Contender Series standout has finished all four of his UFC opponents by knockout.
