Henry Cejudo is having a busy April.
Just over the weekend, he said he helped catch someone who crashed a car into his neighbor`s yard and then attacked his neighbor. Now, it seems Cejudo himself has been a victim of a crime.
On Tuesday, Dylan Rush, Cejudo`s producer, posted a video on Instagram. He said that while he was sleeping at Cejudo’s studio, a burglar broke in and stole Cejudo’s original UFC flyweight title. Cejudo, an Olympic gold medalist and former two-division UFC champion, was also reportedly asleep in the studio at the time.
Rush explained, “Someone broke into Henry’s studio last night at 4:45 a.m. and stole his first UFC belt while I was sleeping on the couch. I woke up and watched the guy stand there for two minutes because it was dark and I thought it was Henry. Then I heard a crash when a shelf fell, and the guy ran out.”
Cejudo first became a UFC champion by defeating Demetrious Johnson to win the flyweight title at UFC 227. He later won the bantamweight title against Marlon Moraes at UFC 238. After briefly retiring from MMA in 2020, Cejudo returned to the UFC in 2023. Since his return, he has lost three fights, most recently a technical decision against Song Yadong at UFC Seattle in February.
