Heavyweights Tafa and Diniz to Collide at UFC 317

MMA news

A thrilling heavyweight match is on the horizon as Justin Tafa and Jhonata Diniz are scheduled to face each other at UFC 317, part of the annual International Fight Week events on June 28th. This was confirmed by MMA Fighting, citing reports from Laerte Viana.

UFC 317 will be hosted at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas and broadcast live on pay-per-view. The main event for this card is yet to be officially announced by the UFC.

Justin Tafa, with a record of 7 wins, 5 losses, and 1 no-contest, is eager to rebound after recent defeats to Karl Williams and Tallison Teixeira. Prior to these setbacks, Tafa, brother of Junior Tafa, had impressively secured three consecutive first-round knockouts.

Jhonata Diniz, holding an 8-1 record, previously earned a victory by decision against Karl Williams and finished Austen Lane in the UFC. His last fight was a short-notice loss due to doctor stoppage against Marcin Tybura in November. Diniz was also expected to compete against Vitor Petrino in March, but Petrino withdrew due to an injury.
