‘He is the real deal’: Pros react to Michael Morales’ quick knockout in UFC Vegas 106 headliner

MMA news

Michael Morales appeared completely unfazed as he secured a dominant victory over veteran Gilbert Burns in the main event of UFC Vegas 106. He made it look effortless against the highly-ranked welterweight contender.

The 25-year-old Ecuadorian prospect needed just under four minutes to earn the most significant win of his burgeoning career against Burns, a perennial top contender and former title challenger. With this impressive performance, Morales extended his perfect professional record to 18-0.

Morales put pressure on immediately, hurting Burns with his initial strikes and sending him to the canvas. Although “Durinho” briefly managed to get a takedown, Morales quickly returned to his feet. He then overwhelmed the veteran with a powerful barrage of punches, prompting referee Herb Dean to stop the fight at 3:39 of the opening round.
