The complete fight card for UFC Vegas 106 has been announced. Headlining the event from the UFC APEX in Las Vegas on May 17th is a welterweight clash between Gilbert Burns and Michael Morales.
This fight was originally planned for UFC 315 a week prior but was moved to headline this Fight Night event. The bout features two fighters on different trajectories based on their recent performances.
Gilbert Burns, a consistent top contender in the welterweight division, has faced a challenging period with three consecutive losses. However, these defeats came against elite competition: current champion Belal Muhammad, top contender Jack Della Maddalena, and the highly-ranked Sean Brady.
Looking to rebound, Burns faces the formidable task of handing Michael Morales his first professional loss. Morales enters the fight undefeated with a perfect 17-0 record, including five victories inside the UFC octagon.
In his last outing, Morales impressively defeated veteran Neil Magny via first-round knockout, earning a Performance of the Night bonus last August.
In the co-main event, light heavyweight Paul Craig is set to return to the cage to face Rodolfo Bellato.
Craig, after a brief stint at middleweight, moves back up to the light heavyweight division, where he previously competed for most of his career and holds a notable win over current champion Magomed Ankalaev.
Rodolfo Bellato aims to continue his impressive finishing streak, boasting 11 stoppages in his 12 professional wins. His UFC tenure includes a debut victory over Ihor Potieria and a subsequent draw against Jimmy Crute.
