Fabian Edwards Triumphs Over Impa Kasanganay in PFL 3 Main Event

MMA news

Fabian Edwards delivered a resounding knockout victory over former PFL champion Impa Kasanganay in the main event of PFL 3 in Orlando on Friday. Despite the emphatic win, Edwards`s celebration was brief, quickly focusing on future challenges.

From the start of the fight, Edwards, known for his striking, established control using sharp, close-range elbows that consistently caught Kasanganay off guard. One such elbow opened a significant cut on Kasanganay`s face, causing blood to flow.

The ringside doctor examined the deep cut on Kasanganay during the break between rounds, but deemed him fit to continue.

Although Kasanganay had moments of success, including a punch that briefly staggered Edwards after an accidental head clash, Edwards, a former Bellator title contender, persistently found openings to land powerful strikes. The fight-ending sequence began with a well-timed jab that visibly stunned Kasanganay. Edwards capitalized immediately, unleashing a series of punches that overwhelmed Kasanganay, sending him to the mat and prompting the referee to stop the fight at 2:14 of the second round. After sharing a moment of victory with his brother Leon Edwards, Fabian shifted his focus to his next opponent, Josh Silveira, who also won earlier in the evening.

“I feel good, but the job isn’t finished,” Edwards stated about his victory. “One win down, two more to go. I can’t get carried away. PFL should have introduced elbows a long time ago.”
