Eddie Hall Open to Francis Ngannou Superfight ‘If the Money is Right’

MMA news

Following his dominant 30-second MMA debut victory over fellow former World`s Strongest Man Mariusz Pudzianowski at KSW 105, Eddie Hall has clarified his intentions in combat sports. Hall stated he is not pursuing a career as a ranked fighter but is open to future bouts that are entertaining and financially rewarding, particularly against other notable “freaks” in the world.

This opens the door to speculation about a potential clash with MMA heavyweight star Francis Ngannou. Ngannou is widely regarded as one of the most dangerous fighters in the sport, and KSW`s CEO had previously suggested the winner of Hall vs. Pudzianowski as a potential opponent. Hall confirmed his willingness to face Ngannou, but emphasized the significant requirements involved.

Speaking about the prospect, Hall acknowledged the immense challenge, likening it to being “chucked in with the wolves.” He stressed the necessity of extensive preparation, ideally six to nine months of training with top-level athletes and camps, due to the inherent risk.

Hall was candid about Ngannou`s superior fighting skills, admitting he would be “outclassed in every single way possible.” However, he highlighted the unpredictable nature of heavyweight fights, suggesting that a single, well-placed punch could potentially change everything – “if I catch him… it can happen.” Despite this slim chance, Hall reiterated that such a dangerous fight would require a substantial financial incentive, literally putting his life on the line.

Regarding his current situation, Hall signed a two-fight KSW deal, with the initial plan being a rematch against Pudzianowski. However, Pudzianowski seems uninterested in a second bout after the quick loss. Hall remains open to other opponents, including Dillon Danis. While denying any prior failed fight arrangements with Danis, Hall expressed strong interest in a potential clash, viewing it as another compelling “freak fight” pitting a grappling expert against a massive strongman.

Finally, Hall mentioned his continued interest in the unique challenge of fighting two opponents simultaneously, a format he previously enjoyed and found exciting due to the inherent danger.
