Dyrachyo Finds Xtreme Gaming and Talon Esports ‘Most Boring’ to Watch

Esports news

Professional Dota 2 player Anton “dyrachyo” Shkredov, known for his aggressive carry play and frank opinions, recently voiced a strong critique regarding the playstyles of fellow top-tier teams Xtreme Gaming and Talon Esports. Speaking during a livestream, the Gaimin Gladiators star didn`t mince words, labeling their approaches as particularly uninspiring for viewers.

Dyrachyo explained that his lack of enthusiasm stems from what he perceives as a drawn-out, farm-heavy strategy often employed by these teams. “Honestly, I`ve never enjoyed watching Xtreme`s games,” he stated, adding that he finds their style “super low skill and super boring.” His criticism extended equally to Talon Esports, citing a consistent pattern:

“Xtreme were, and always Talon, because Talon always played for over an hour, I couldn`t — it was very disgusting for me to watch. When I played, when I didn`t play, they always dragged [the game]. That was their thing: well, we`ll farm for an hour, maybe pick super late-game heroes, we`ll farm our whole lives and then we`ll be able to fight properly.”

He singled out Xtreme Gaming`s star carry, Ame, as an example of this patient, potentially tedious approach. “And the same with Xtreme. Ame, who will bash creeps for 40 minutes to then come out with six slots to fight — it was always just disgusting for me to watch, I don`t know. Who enjoys watching that?”

The irony of their recent encounter wasn`t lost on him. “And then they met: Xtreme and Talon. My two most disliked teams in that sense, well, from the spectators` point of view.”

In contrast, dyrachyo expressed appreciation for teams like Team Liquid and others who showcase more varied and surprising strategies. He values dynamic gameplay and adaptability over prolonged farming phases, highlighting a preference for styles that actively create action rather than passively waiting for late-game power spikes.

Dyrachyo`s comments touch upon a perennial debate within the Dota 2 community: the balance between optimal strategy for winning (which sometimes involves slow, calculated farming) and the entertainment factor for the audience. While a late-game focused approach can be effective, it doesn`t always make for gripping viewing, a point seemingly underscored by a top professional player`s candid take.
