Dustin Poirier, Wife Expecting Second Child After Retirement Fight at UFC 318

MMA news

Adding to the significant news surrounding his announced retirement bout, Dustin Poirier and his wife, Jolie, are expanding their family. The couple recently revealed they are expecting their second child, with the new arrival anticipated in December.

This joyful personal update comes just days after “The Diamond” publicly stated that his upcoming fight against Max Holloway for the BMF title at UFC 318 in July is planned to be his final professional appearance in mixed martial arts.

Jolie Poirier shared the exciting news with a post, indicating that their daughter, “Sweet P,” is finally getting a younger sibling.

“Fight news wasn’t the only secret we were keeping from you… WE’RE HAVING A BABY! Sweet P will be a BIG SISTER FINALLY.”

Poirier`s retirement fight is set to headline the UFC’s July pay-per-view event, taking place near his home in New Orleans. This highly anticipated BMF title clash marks the third time Poirier and Holloway will compete against each other. Poirier was victorious in both their previous encounters, including their interim lightweight title fight at UFC 236.

Holloway captured the BMF belt with a memorable knockout victory over Justin Gaethje at UFC 300 in April 2024, setting the stage for this trilogy showdown against Poirier.
