Drew Dober Reacts to Knockout Loss at UFC Mexico

MMA news

Drew Dober marked his 25th UFC appearance on Saturday, but the fight ended in disappointment.

The experienced lightweight fighter suffered a knockout defeat in under two minutes during his UFC Mexico bout. Manuel Torres landed a powerful right hand, followed by a series of hammer fists. The referee`s late stoppage allowed Dober to take several unnecessary blows after the initial knockdown.

Dober addressed the loss in a social media statement on Sunday:

“Well, that was bad,” Dober admitted. “Manuel Torres landed a perfectly timed 1-2. Ultimately, I stepped into the path of a long-reach power punch.”

Dober didn`t comment on the controversial late stoppage, despite appearing alert and ready to continue fighting shortly after the referee intervened.

This marks Dober`s third knockout loss in the UFC, and his third consecutive defeat. The 36-year-old fighter has now lost four out of his last five matches.

While Dober is known for earning UFC bonuses, this time it was Torres who received the $50,000 bonus for the knockout, his fourth bonus in four victories.
