Joe Rogan will not be providing commentary for UFC 315 in Montreal, confirming his previous statements about not traveling to Canada for events. The full broadcast team for the upcoming pay-per-view has now been finalized.
Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz is set to join the commentary booth. He will work alongside the regular team members, play-by-play announcer Jon Anik and UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier.
Rogan, who generally avoids international travel for commentating assignments, reinforced his position regarding a trip to Canada during a recent episode of his podcast. In March, he explicitly stated, “I won’t be there. I don’t go to Canada anymore… I’d rather go to Russia.”
The podcast host`s apparent unwillingness to travel to Canada appears linked to political perspectives and tensions, reportedly including past humorous remarks made by figures like former President Donald Trump regarding the country.
With Rogan`s absence, Cruz steps into the role for UFC 315. The event features Welterweight Champion Belal Muhammad making his first title defense in the main event against Jack Della Maddalena. The co-main event is a Flyweight title bout between Valentina Shevchenko and French contender Manon Fiorot.
Brendan Fitzgerald will also be part of the broadcast crew, serving as the on-site reporter during the event in Montreal.
UFC 315 is scheduled to take place on May 10th from Montreal, Canada.
