Dirty Boxing: Andrei Arlovski Stops Terrance Hodges with Gruesome Cut

MMA news

Former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski has returned to winning form after almost three years.

Arlovski competed against Terrance Hodges in the co-main event at Dirty Boxing 1 in Miami on Saturday night. This was Arlovski`s first fight since leaving the UFC in June, following a close decision loss to Martin Buday at UFC 303. The 46-year-old fighter landed several powerful elbows, causing a severe cut on Hodges` face. The ringside doctor intervened and stopped the fight in the second round at the 2:00 mark.

Using his experience, “The Pitbull” fought patiently, waiting for Hodges to engage. The fight involved a lot of clinching initiated by Hodges, but Arlovski managed to land elbows effectively. Hodges landed body shots, but Arlovski consistently used his jab when at a distance. Arlovski concluded the first round with a strong series of elbows and punches.

In the second round, Arlovski became more aggressive and inflicted a significant cut on Hodges. Upon examination, the doctor decided to stop the fight.

This win breaks Arlovski`s four-fight losing streak and is his first under the Dirty Boxing promotion. He is scheduled to make his debut in GFL later this year as part of the Los Angeles team.
