Charles Oliveira has been announced as the recipient of the 2025 Forrest Griffin Community Award.
This award is presented annually during International Fight Week to recognize UFC fighters for their significant charitable contributions. The selection is personally made by UFC CEO Dana White. Oliveira was honored at the recent UFC Kansas City event for his impactful work with the Charles doBronxs Institute. This organization provides free programs in arts, education, nutrition, and jiu-jitsu to hundreds of local young people, aiming to offer them opportunities for a brighter future.
Oliveira is scheduled to officially receive his award at the 2025 UFC Hall of Fame ceremony, which will take place in June.
Charles is not only a great athlete, but he’s also an amazing role model who enjoys giving back to the community. Charles does a great job of helping local youth in Sao Paulo by providing them with free education and jiu-jitsu training at his institute, and he’s directly helping them create a better life for themselves in the process. It’s an honor to present him with his award.
UFC CEO Dana White praised Oliveira`s commitment.
As part of receiving the award, the former UFC lightweight champion will also be granted a $25,000 donation from the UFC Foundation, to be given to a charity of his choice.
Oliveira is currently awaiting the announcement of his next fight. His last outing was a dominant decision victory over Michael Chandler at UFC 309 in November.
