Ramiz Brahimaj delivered a highlight-reel performance at UFC Vegas 107, scoring a spectacular submission victory. He finished Billy Ray Goff with a vicious standing guillotine choke that ultimately rendered Goff unconscious.
This win marked Brahimaj`s second consecutive impressive showing in the Octagon, following a knockout victory in his previous bout. His dominant performance against Goff on Saturday night solidified his momentum.
The decisive finish came quickly in the first round, officially recorded at the 3:16 mark. The submission sequence began when Goff attempted to utilize his grappling. Brahimaj was quick to counter, first locking onto a ninja choke and then seamlessly transitioning to the standing guillotine. Despite Goff`s efforts to resist or break free, the choke was applied perfectly, and he was put to sleep before collapsing to the canvas.
Speaking in the cage with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier after the victory, Brahimaj expressed his emotions. Referencing a pre-fight comment, he stated, “I heard you backstage when you said you think you’re Mike Tyson, you think you’re the Bronx bomber … this fight I was the Bronx boa.” He added, “I feel like I’m home.”
Brahimaj also touched upon the personal struggles he overcame to reach this point. “I battled through a lot, mental barriers, injuries, changes, I was going to hang these gloves up two years ago … some words resonate with you and I’m here. I’m just in the moment. I’m grateful.”
This victory was Brahimaj`s third career win by guillotine choke, although it was his first recorded under the UFC banner. The win improved his record to 3-1 in his last four fights. Brahimaj also took a moment to acknowledge UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby, thanking him for maintaining faith in him despite past setbacks.
With two decisive finishes in his last two outings, Ramiz Brahimaj has emphatically proven his place on the roster and is clearly establishing himself as a significant threat in the competitive welterweight division.
