MMA news

Ben Whittaker resolved one issue in the ring but immediately encountered another outside of it.

Following their initial fight six months prior that ended in a draw due to going over the ropes, Whittaker and Liam Cameron finally settled their rivalry. Whittaker achieved a second-round knockout victory on Sunday in Birmingham, England. The fight concluded when Whittaker (9-0-1) staggered Cameron (27-6-1, 1 NC) with a strong right hand, followed by a rapid series of punches that led the referee to stop the match.

After the fight, Whittaker was accused of spitting towards Cameron`s corner, adding a controversial element to his win. Speaking to Sky Sports, Whittaker addressed the accusation, stating it was merely emotion and denied any intentional spitting.

Video footage appears inconclusive regarding the alleged spitting incident.

Whittaker, a silver medalist in boxing at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, has become a prominent figure in professional boxing since 2022, recognized for his entertaining and unconventional fighting style.
