Alexandre Pantoja Reveals Custom Shorts for UFC 317 Title Defense

MMA news

UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja is set to wear a brand new pair of custom fight shorts for his upcoming fourth title defense at UFC 317.

These new shorts, part of the UFC Unrivaled collection produced in partnership with VENUM, were recently revealed by the promotion. Pantoja is scheduled to put his championship on the line against Kai Kara-France in the co-main event of Saturday`s pay-per-view card, taking place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Following the pattern of recent collection releases, Pantoja was deeply involved in the overall design of the shorts, incorporating his unique style and personal beliefs into the final look.

According to the description provided, Pantoja chose to feature mythological Japanese dragons in the design, selecting them as symbols representing power, wisdom, and good fortune. His Brazilian heritage is also visually referenced through graphics inspired by waves, intended to evoke the famous beaches of his home country.

This bout marks Pantoja`s first appearance in the octagon in 2025. Known as “The Cannibal,” he successfully defended his 125-pound title twice during 2024. He defeated Steve Erceg in the main event of UFC 301 and secured a dominant second-round submission victory over Kai Asakura at UFC 310 last December. Pantoja originally captured the flyweight title by winning a “Fight of the Year” contender decision against Brandon Moreno at UFC 290 in July 2023.
