Alexander Volkanovski is preparing for his next championship fight, and as is customary, he will have a brand new set of custom shorts for the occasion.
This Saturday at UFC 314, Volkanovski has the opportunity to become a two-time featherweight champion. He will face Diego Lopes for the vacant title at the Kaseya Center in Miami. The championship is available because Ilia Topuria, the previous titleholder, relinquished it to move up to the lightweight division.
For this highly anticipated main event, Volkanovski will be sporting a unique pair of custom shorts, which have already been revealed.
Volkanovski joins a distinguished group of UFC stars, including names like Israel Adesanya, Alex Pereira, Zhang Weili, Max Holloway, Leon Edwards, and Sean O’Malley, who also receive custom gear for their major fights. Stepping into the octagon this Saturday will mark Volkanovski`s tenth consecutive championship fight.
Although Volkanovski lost his featherweight title to Topuria at UFC 298 via knockout, he now has a chance to reclaim it without immediately facing Topuria in a rematch. However, he faces a significant challenge in Lopes, a popular fighter who has achieved five consecutive victories since a close decision loss in his debut against Movsar Evloev in 2023.
