2025 NBA Draft: Pre-Lottery Pick Order

NBA news

The NBA draft lottery is scheduled to take place on Monday, May 8th, at 7 p.m. ET. With the field of participating teams finalized, we now have a clearer view of the complete potential pick order for the 2025 NBA Draft, which is set for June 25-26.

The teams with the highest probability of securing the first overall selection are the Utah Jazz (17-65), Washington Wizards (18-64), and Charlotte Hornets (19-63), each holding a 14% chance. They are followed by the New Orleans Pelicans (21-61) with a 12.5% chance, and the Philadelphia 76ers (24-58) with a 10.5% chance. Notably, this is the second consecutive year the Wizards possess the top odds for the No. 1 pick. In 2024, the Atlanta Hawks ultimately landed the first selection and drafted forward Zaccharie Risacher.

Looking back at team history, the Wizards last selected first overall in 2010 when they picked John Wall. The Hornets` most recent No. 1 pick was Larry Johnson in the 1991 draft. The Utah Jazz are one of only six NBA franchises that have never held the coveted top spot in the draft.

With a potentially game-changing prospect like Duke`s Cooper Flagg expected to be available, here is an updated look at the preliminary draft pick order before the lottery results are known.
